The Grace Pendant is a timeless reminder of the strength found in imperfection. I created this pendant as an ode to one of my favorite designers, Elsa Peretti. I appreciate her clean lines and playful organic silhouettes.

I made this in the studio with my teacher from a lost wax I carved.

When it was time to take it out from the mold, we discovered the sentiment had not set up properly, this happens sometimes. He was very apologetic saying we could try to cast it again. I told him that I LOVED it – in fact I loved it so much more because it has this small crack in it – a sign to me that its beauty was in its imperfection - it made it even more unique. When I cast the piece, it came out of the casting material with a crack - the material had not set up correctly. My teacher apologized profusely and told me that we would just have to recast it. I said no way – I LOVED it because of the crack. It makes me think of how all of us have a flaw and that you can either look at it as something you want to fix – or in this case celebrate it as beautiful for its uniqueness.

I named the Grace Pendant. It is my Mother Maiden name. She always made me feel like I was a perfect creation even if I had what others would consider flaws. She always made me realize it is important to remember that strength is found in imperfection. We are all broken in some way. But isn't that what makes each of us unique? It is definitely one of my favorites!

We are all broken in some way. But isn't that what makes each of us unique? I hope people who wear it remember our flaws are not flaws but are our superpower and this is what makes us uniquely ourselves - we need to accept our imperfections with Grace! It is definitely one of my favorites!

I look at this pendant as a symbol of resilience and individuality, it serves as a tribute to the cracks that actually make us whole.
