Lava stone pendants can be associated with both Greek and Roman cultures:
The Romans believed that lava stone, also known as basalt, could protect against evil forces and the evil eye. They also believed it could give strength and courage.
Lava stone cameos were often carved with images of Greek and Roman gods and goddesses, such as Artemis, Ares, Zeus, Dionysus, and Apollo.
Lava stone is a natural stone that comes from cooled volcanic lava. It has been used in jewelry for many cultures and has been associated with lithotherapy since ancient times. The Victorian era saw a surge in lava jewelry production, particularly cameos, which were carved from lava from Mt. Vesuvius.

Each is slightly different and have different style settings.
