I designed and made this necklace from smooth watermelon tourmaline heishi beads, inspired by my love of tourmaline and the beautiful ombré effect you can create with its range of natural colors. I love the way the greens move into pinks, from deep hunter green to soft rose and rich berry tones. It is a unique and one-of-a-kind necklace.

I hand-knot the beads every three stones, a little tradition said to bring good luck. The necklace is finished with a substantial gold-filled clasp that can be worn at the front and is large enough to add your own charms. Each Alba comes with a beautiful Baroque pearl charm.

I’m drawn to the way watermelon tourmaline brings together these unexpected shades of pink and green. It feels natural, a little playful, and easy to wear every day.

As the name suggests, Watermelon Tourmaline displays banded colors that resemble a ripe slice of watermelon. The stone is said to  enhances the experience of being in nature because it helps us connects us natural beauty and the gifts of nature that surrounds us.
