Tourmaline

Why I do love Watermelon Tourmaline?
Let me count the ways!
The Unsung Hero of October: Tourmaline
Tourmaline, October's Birthstone, is a gorgeous stone that comes in a rainbow of colors. My favorite is Watermelon! This stunning variety features rich greens, teal blues, transitioning to fuchsia and light pinks. It is a dynamic and playful yet elegant stone.
Why is is the Tourmaline Called the "ELECTRIC GEMSTONE"?

It can actually generate an electric charge! When heated or rubbed it attracts tiny particle and can generate an electrical voltage! But don't worry that will not happen when it is worn as jewelry. A charge only happens if it is extremely large and is put under physical pressure along its vertical axis.
I love using it in my designs in both its Raw form as well as Ombré
Ombré: Means "Shaded." When one color or shade smoothly blends and transitions into another color or shade.
The progression from the rich fuchsia pinks, to light pinks then to blues and light then dark rich hunter greens is one of my favorite design elements.
Using the Ombré technique shows meticulous craftmanship.
Raw Stones:
The other way where you can the stone in its most natural form is using it "raw" or slightly polished but completely natural. The different colors are no separate or carved from each other - but are all fused into one beautiful stones with hints of each color.
Using the raw stones gives a much more organic look and feel.
Tourmaline represents love, compassion, and emotional healing and is believed to promote balance and harmony in life.
